Vendor Spotlight: Priolo and Co. Eco Beautiful Jewelry and Let Love Out!

I am constantly inspired by others who stand firmly in their beliefs and fight to make a difference.  Priolo and Co. is a prime example of a company who is doing just that.  Carl Priolo is a talented craftsman with a passion for sustainability, and he has passed that love on to his family.  He began designing jewelry in 1972 when he designed his first ring and sold it in Santa Barbara, from there his business evolved into a wholesale ring company, to designer bracelets, and ultimately opening their storefront in Mill Valley, CA in 1994 “Sophia Mill Valley”.  And to what it is today as one of the elite eco-friendly jewelry companies in the nation.

The Priolo’s dramatic lineage of artisans and craftspeople is apparent in their masterpieces.  Family means everything to them and this is a true family business as every member has a solid role.  From Carl and Lucas the father and son design team, Sophie and Julie are the hard-working marketing team (and models), to Jared who is their graphic designer and son-in-law to be!

They not only share a strong family bond, but a love for their fellow-man and equality for all.  This is where the inspiration for the new line of everyday jewelry “Let Love Out!” comes from.  Carl’s brother Chris was taken from the world at an early age after a battle with AIDS.  His family has created this campaign in his honor in the wake of the fight for marriage equality and rising violence and discrimination against gay youth all over the country.

“Chris had more energy than the entire family combined. He was passionate, vivacious and magically gifted. He moved people with his music and was beloved by all – his family, students and colleagues. But he felt he could only succeed in his career by hiding who he was. I was devastated by his death and am still today deeply sad that he could never let love out. Well, the time has come.“ – Carl Priolo .

Additionally, when you purchase any of the Let Love Out pieces (there is a pendant, necklace, and bracelet) you can choose between two charities for 10% of the proceeds to go towards.  And as all of their pieces they are made with eco-friendly materials.

His Voice Global Fundraiser

I have spent the past several weeks helping my good friend Kari Seher from Kari Crowe photography put together a fundraiser, and it’s happening tonight!

Kari followed a group from Village Church in Dallas to Yei in southern Sudan to document a mission that they were hosting with the His Voice Global charity. Kari was so impressed with the work they are doing over there that she wants to spread the word and help th on their way to build a fourth orphanage in the region. Which is the whole point of tonight.

We will be featuring a screening of the documentary film “The New Sudan” which tells the story of His Voice Global and their mission. Vernon Berger will also be there to discuss his journey in detail. And last but not least, we are hosting a silent auction that will feature several awesome items including sports tickets, autographed sports memorabillia, Taylor made golf bag and round of golf, artwork, Eco-fabulous jewelry from Priolo and co., and Fort Worth ballet tickets just to name a few! We would love to see you there, all proceeds obviously go to benefit the mission of His Voice Global.

The event starts at 6:30 tonight at Hickory Street Annex in Dallas. Come and bring your friends!
